RLB Technologies LLC is evaluating and developing new products to serve large-scale business, educational and consumer markets. We license technologies from leading universities and research institutions throughout the US for the purpose of creating products that will make a positive impact on major markets. RLB Technologies believes any new product that it creates must be socially and environmentally responsible and must improve the overall quality of life of its users.

On February 4, 2010, RLB Technologies launched its first operating company, Madison Assessment LLC. Madison Assessment is a woman-operated business located in Washington DC. It was selected in 2009 as the first technology company spin out of James Madison Innovations (JMI). Madison Assessment's mission is to provide its client institutions with the highest quality computer-based assessment testing instruments available. Madison Assessment is partnering with the Center for Assessment and Research Studies (CARS) at James Madison University (JMU) to distribute and administer assessment testing services to higher educational institutions. Madison Assessment believes that today’s higher education environment demands that institutions be vigilant in assessing their strengths, areas for improvement and their overall efficacy at the program level. Longitudinal studies of test scores provide vital information regarding the overall progress and success of the institution’s curriculum.

On May 20, 2011, RLB Technologies launched US e-Chromic LLC. US e-Chromic is a cleantech company that is commercializing thin film electrochromic smart window technology developed by the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL).
